Rosie, Billie, and Varla are three strippers. After a particularly sizzling act, they throw themselves into their little sportscars and race across the desert. There they meet Tommy, a young pilot and his girlfriend Linda. Varla beats him in a race by forcing him to drive off the track. In the argument that ensues, she breaks his back, killing him. The three women take Linda hostage and flee. On their route they run into a farm where an old paralytic and his two sons, Kirk and a halfwit weightlifter nicknamed “the vegetable”. When the strippers sense that the old man has some money hidden away, and when the old man, in turn, starts to lust after the young Linda, a killing game breaks out in which they all kill each other except Kirk and the Linda. Russell Albion Meyer (* 1922 in Oakland; † 2004 in Los Angeles) was born in San Leandro, California, to Lydia Lucinda (Hauck), a nurse, and William Arthur Meyer, a police officer, who divorced during his childhood. His parents were both of German descent. Meyer began winning prizes at 15 with his amateur films. He spent World War II in Europe as a combat cameraman. After the war, he became a professional photographer, shooting some of the earliest Playboy centerfolds. He made his film directorial debut with The Immoral Mr. Teas (1959), the first nudie (softcore sex) film to make a profit over a million dollars, which led to a string of self-financed films that gradually became more bizarre, violent, and cartoonish.
