Fly in for the 6th edition of DIAMETRALE Night Visions! Since Murnau’s Nosferatu - A Symphony of Horror (1922), the bloodsucking undead have been as much a part of cinema as the rattling of the projector. They shimmer in numerous facets: repulsive and ugly like Max Schreck, elegant and mysterious like Bela Lugosi or attractive and terrifying like Christopher Lee.

Film history can be traced along the countless adaptations of the vampire myth: vampires flutter in expressionist horror films, shape genre cinema in the Hammer Films productions of the 50s, embody erotic fantasies in 70s B-movies or combine pop culture with social criticism in contemporary series.

This year’s Nachtvisionen presents you with a particularly biting triptych: an absolute underground shocker in the dark no-future style from Vienna, one of the few sexploitation vampire films by a female director and the skillful revival of the genre from the Far East.
